Services

Individual Therapy

Life comes with transitions, challenges, and changes, which sometimes overwhelm us and exceed our abilities to cope. Individual therapy is a very personal process and therefore is different for everyone. Sometimes all that is needed is a safe place where you can explore your thoughts and emotions. Other times, more targeted therapy is required to help you develop new skills to heal and move forward.

Family Therapy

All families experience conflict, stress, and difficulties communicating sometimes. However, if the tough times are out weighing the good times, it may be time to seek help. Family therapy can help to repair relationships, develop deeper connection and trust, and improve communication.

Group Therapy

We offer psycho-educational groups for parents and conduct new intakes in throughout the year. Please inquire for more info.

VALUES AND COMMITMENTS

Our values and our mission

are rooted in the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association's (CCPA) Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice. To provide individuals, families, and parents with personalized, ethical, and effective counselling services.

You are our priority

and at Larchwood, you are the most important person in the room. Your growth and safety are the top priority in counselling. We work diligently to conduct thorough assessments, personalize my counselling approach to your needs, and follow your feedback and direction. We privilege your voice in our sessions and frequently check in to see if our working-relationship is working for you. If you decide your therapist at Larchwood is not a good fit for you, we will support you in finding another therapist.

We practice fidelity and respect

and we do everything we can to honour the commitments we make to you. We maintain integrity in the relationships we develop with you by being gentle, yet honest and respectful in all our communication.

Community wellness and safety are important to us

and we work to protect your rights, privacy, and wellbeing. We carefully consider our clinical decisions and aim to reduce any potential harm or risks to you and/or others in the community.

You are the director of your life

and although we may provide recommendations or direction based on research or experience, we will always encourage you to make your own decisions and respect your right to choose for yourself. We support clients in achieving independence in their wellness practices and will honour your values, beliefs, and ideas throughout our work together.

We welcome diversity and promote social justice.

We are committed to fair treatment of all individuals, regardless of race, gender, religion, physical or mental abilities, marital status, ethnic background, sexual orientation, or age. We aim to understand the broader socio-cultural context in which you have developed and take into account your personal life-history and background.

We are life-long learners

and continue to attend regular trainings and professional developments to maintain my competencies as therapists. We engage in regular consultations with fellow therapists and frequently refer to research and literature in order to provide counselling that is in-line with best practice.
